Geneviève Moisan, “From Gold Thread to Soft Circuits: Reclaiming Historical Knowledge in Digital Embroidery.”

Conference presentation at Stitched Together: Needlework Research and Making conference, organized by The Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace (London, UK), Thursday 21 August and Friday 22 August, supported by the Pasold Research Fund.

Geneviève Moisan, PhD student in Art Education (Concordia U, Montréal), T&M member, and research support technician will be presenting her research “From Gold Thread to Soft Circuits: Reclaiming Historical Knowledge in Digital Embroidery,” on a panel discussing Needlework Now, alongside fellow panelists David Torres del Alcázar’s “Women, guardians of the embroidery tradition in Lorca, Spain,” & Anum Rauf’s “Sindhi Embroidery as Gaj in Contemporary Pakistani Fashion.”
