Le Musée des maîtres et artisans du Québec is pleased to present this exhibition, organized by TRAMES la galerie, which presents the collaborative work of François Morelli, Didier Morelli and Geneviève Moisan.
François Morelli explains the origin of the project: “The woven works The Exquis are the fruit of a double collaboration. They represent exquisite corpses made with my son Didier Morelli using the drawing software Kid Pix in the late 90s. The recent discovery of Geneviève Moisan’s work on computerized Jacquard led me to want to transform into textile works These first sketches in black and white. The success of this project is attributable to Geneviève thanks to his research on the motifs, his strong artistic sensibility for the textile material and his mastery of digital technology. ”
The series Les Exquis, is made of 8 pieces hand-woven Jacquard.
Sunday, August 27th, beginning at 2pm, the artists will be on site to give a talk about their collaborative process as part of the exhibition finissage (until 5pm).
