From April 29 through May 27, 2019, Kathleen Vaughan is an artist-in-residence at the Sondre Green Artists Residency in Noresund, Norway. This textile residency is run by the Norwegian Textile Artists Association at the rural farm house/studios of notable Norwegian textile artist, Kristen Lindberg. Place-based as usual, Vaughan is exploring “new-to-her” ways of textile mapping and knowing, working with locally-sourced materials such as Norwegian wool while being inspired by the site’s spring colours and creating #aweavingaday.
Vaughan will present her research and creation at the Residency’s Open House on May 25, 2019, 12 to 3 p.m.
